Municipal Corporation of Delhi{ MCD} is the 2nd biggest Civic Body of world. MCD organizes civic services for the residents residing in it's territoy. It has been authorised to Register and Issue of Births and Deaths Certificate for all events taking place under it's jurisdiction. This is being as per the guidelines of Registration of Births & Deaths Act 1969 {RBD Act} and Delhi State Rules for Registration of Births & Deaths 1999.  Health Department of M.C.D.  has been assigned this responsibility of registration of events and issue certificates .The geographical area of MCD has been devided into 12 zones for administrative purposes . Each zone is headed by Dy. H.O. who has been notified as Registrar,  who supervises all activities & is being aassisted  by Sub-Registrar.

The Municipal Health Officer (MHO) is the Addl Chief Registrar, controls the Registration of Births and Deaths in MCD.  He is being assisted by the Officer in-charge of Vital Statistics (OIVS) who is being designated as Assistant Chief Registrar.
